Blogger Newbie

This is my first post...ever! Yep, it's official, I'm a dinosaur in the world of computers. Anyway, I have a decorating service called "Room Revival" in Syracuse, New York. I specialize in one day interior makeovers, also known as interior rearranges. I also do full-scale interior design projects. I will be posting "before" and "after" photos, budget-conscious design solutions, project ideas, organizing tips, etc. Although this blog will serve to inform potential clients about Room Revival, my main intent is to exchange ideas with you and brainstorm budget-conscious design solutions together. I hope you will feel free to post comments and suggestions as I fully expect to learn more than I teach !

Interior rearranging is my first love because it is immediate (and I'm impatient), dramatic, inexpensive, challenging, and most of all because I love to merchandise!

My design aesthetic: I like a room to look as though it has evolved over time and I do not like everything to be too matchy-matchy! (Is that a word?) I like to have an element of surprise and a sense of humor in every room. I try to keep it fun and not let the design take itself too seriously. I always prioritize function before I consider aesthetics. Last but not least...rooms should reflect the people who reside there.

I can appreciate and design a well-balanced, beautiful space in almost any style but my own home is decorated in a homey, french country motif. I used warm tomato red, golds and mustard yellow, avocado green, and coral. (see above photo, my kitchen ) I'm enjoying the pallet which is a real departure from the earthier tones in our previous home.

Wish me luck as I learn to navigate this world of blogging!
